Securing the future of the Coal Exchange: Public meeting on Thursday, October 9

FOLLOWING Stephen’s call for urgent action to secure the future of the historic Coal Exchange in Butetown, a public meeting has been arranged for Thursday, October 9.

CEInvite2The meeting, to be held from 5.30pm at the Butetown Youth Pavilion on Dumballs Road – just a short walk from the Coal Exchange – will be co-hosted by the Cardiff South and Penarth MP and Nerys Lloyd-Pierce of Cardiff Civic Society.

Stephen said: “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received to date. So many people have been in touch – some with practical advice and specific expertise that could help as we move forward; others with fond memories and personal tales of the building; but all with an overwhelming desire to ensure the Coal Exchange is retained for the local community and the whole city.

“This meeting will be an opportunity for all those with an interest in discussing practical solutions to have a say, and hear what others think in an open forum.

“We are all agreed that it would be fantastic to bring new life to this grand old building. I hope that by working together, we can help identify viable options for the future.”

All are welcome at the public meeting at the Butetown Pavilion (CF10 5FE) – but if possible please RSVP by clicking this link to give an idea of numbers.
