The ‘Make A Choice, See A Change’ project in Butetown is supported by community organisers from Movement for Change, youth workers from Cardiff Council and officers from South Wales Police, and the grassroots work is aimed at countering the threat of radicalisation among young Muslims, and tackling Islamophobic hate crime.

Cardiff South and Penarth MP Stephen said: “It was great to welcome the group to Westminster. The work they are doing – which only last week was praised by Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper – deserves recognition, and I was proud to show them around Parliament.”

After Westminster, the group headed to New Scotland Yard to discuss their work with officers from the Metropolitan Police’s SO15 Counter Terrorism Command.

A group spokesman said: “It was a long day but totally worthwhile. Everyone left with plenty of food for thought and ideas for what next. So, watch this space!”
